The RSPCA is calling for a better life for racing greyhounds and has launched a new online petition. Every year at least 10,000 greyhounds are retired from racing. The fate of many of these greyhounds is unknown and huge numbers simply 'disappear' Currently, the government proposes that the greyhound racing industry should be self-regulated. However, it seems unlikely that this will bring the necessary improvement in racing greyhound welfare.The RSPCA is calling on the government to introduce regulations to protect the welfare of all racing greyhounds.
